Captain Insensible and his first mate Seawoman Useless hired a river cruiser and pootled down the Noosa river in our trusty Yamaha (of course) engined craft.
All went swimmingly well and we cruised through the waters taking in the views and soaking up the sunshine.
So we decided to head for The Pelican
and get a coffee by following the boat hire lads advice for mooring up, “just drive up the sand and drop anchor” easier said, than done! We were stuck in the shallow water, anyway Captain Insensible managed to weigh anchor and got his priorities right, jumped out of the boat and went to get coffee and biscotti.
Once they were drunk we had to figure out how to get out of the shallows, trusty Seawoman Useless got out the flow chart and the very short paddle provided for just this kind of situation. Captain Insensible, when he’d finished laughing said, “what’s that going to do?” Ever the problem solver he jumped into the water and pushed out the boat but then he had to get back in and the water was up to his chest!
“Just haul yer sen up!” cried Useless. First attempt resulted in him sliding under the boat - scary! Eventually Useless pulling and Insensible hauling he got back into the boat, cut, bruised and battered and laughing his head off! Reversed out into the Noosa Sound and set off as though nothing untoward had happened.
Almost us!😅
Nearly needed them!
The kids piloting these could teach us a thing or two!
A visit to First Aid, some wine and two enormous ice creams from Copenhagen’s later we were ready for an afternoon of body boarding…
More Bella Emberg than Pam Anderson Dawn wasn’t particularly successful but Arselehoff was amazing!

Last night dinner at The Sails (posh) Dawn decided to try the famous Moreton Bay Bug
Tasted better than it smelled and looked.
